Dr. Gail Weingast is an Honored Medical Professional

August 15, 2019

Her overall career journey began in 1969, when Gail Weingast, future doctor, attended Jackson College at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. While there, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. In other words, it’s clear that medicine wasn’t a calling, and it wasn’t her singular focus early on. Despite that, she figured it out soon after; she attended the Boston University School of Medicine soon after and she earned her medical degree and the title Dr. Gail Weingast MD. by 1976.

Following medical school, Dr. Weingast completed a two-year pediatrics internship, a two-year pediatrics residency, a three year radiology residency and a fellowship in ultrasound between her graduation and 1983 at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Gail Weingast then completed her post-graduate radiology studies at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver, in 1983 and 1984. She then received practical experience at several hospitals in Colorado and New York, before landing at Backus Hospital, where she has been for more than two decades, and where she has guided her department into a position as a premiere medical facility in New England and nationwide.
